Magnetic Flux Leakage/Exclusion is a method of identifying defects in carbon steel plates and cables by introducing a magnetic field in a scanning pattern over a ferrous material to measure areas of material loss. MFE is an effective tool in storage tank bottom plate inspection, cables, and on materials where only one side is exposed.
- API – MFL scanning certification
MFE Scanning Results:
- Locating and mapping of found defects with remaining wall calculations.
- Precise marking of areas for UT examination.
Bottom Plate Repairs:
Materials with surface scale build-up, damaged coatings, uneven surfaces, residual product, water, excessive slopes, topside damage, and curved surfaces.
