Radiographic testing can be used to evaluate welded joints, areas of material loss, and internal defects using a nuclear source to penetrate materials. Defects are evaluated on film in a dark room and provide a visual representation of the found defects. Caution must be taken to ensure proper time, distance, and shielding are accounted for by surrounding workers and operating technicians.
